18 IBS College`s Students & Staffs raised RM5500 for “Go Bald” SCCS

    For the fifth consecutive years, IBS college once again successfully host the satellite shave for ‘Go Bald 8.0 Campaign’ organized by the Sarawak Children's Cancer Society (SCCS) and IBS College`s student councils. The shaving event was held at IBS College recently. This activity is part of charity event to create awareness and to raise funds for the SCCS. Total donation will be used as medical expenses for children`s cancer patient in Sarawak and also for operating expenses of SCCS.

    This satellite event has received overwhelming response with total of 18 students and staffs voluntarily shaved their heads as a symbol to support the cancer`s patient around the world. Overall, IBS College is able to collect and donated RM5500 to the SCCS.

    Damian, 6 year old who is the youngest volunteer for the event also shaves his hair to support SCCS. According to his father, Peter Lim, the lecturer of IBS College,” this event will help him to learn more about the charitable event and understand the needs of helping others.”

    IBS College`s principal, Dr Antony Hii in his speech said, “this is the fifth year we have been organizing this event at IBS College. Purpose of this event is to promote the important of social caring and to help IBS students learn to support people who are in need of help. Therefore, I am pleased to say that the college will continue to support this event for next year.”

    SCCS head of Miri Liaison office, Jocelyn Hee complimented the students and staffs for their charitable effort.

    SCCS is a non-profit voluntary organization formed on 26th September, 1999 by a group of parents of children with cancer to discover ways to support and help each other and their children.
